Q: Do you accept my insurance?
A: All insurance that does not require you to see a specific dentist can be billed through our office. These are usually called indemnity or PPO (preferred provider option) plans. No HMO or DMO plans are accepted. We are not providers for Medicare or DentiCal.
Q: How often should I see a dentist?
A: The American Dental Association (ADA) and Dr. Swanson recommend teeth be professionally cleaned and examined at least twice a year. Patients with periodontal disease may need to have cleanings three to four times a year.
Q: What should I expect during my first visit?
A: We will begin by reviewing your medical and dental history. Please be prepared to answer questions regarding your daily medications and any medical treatment past or present. Dr Swanson will examine your teeth and gums, screen you for oral cancer and perform a TMJ (temporomandibular or jaw joint) exam. X-rays required for diagnosing will be taken. Dr Swanson will discuss your diagnosis with you and your options for treatment to determine the best course of treatment for you.
Q: Are payment plans available for my dental treatment?
A: Payment for services is due the day of treatment. We will bill your insurance as a courtesy to you. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. “Layaway” plans are available for payments in advance of the service. We offer no or low interest payment plans through CareCredit, for those who qualify.
Q: What if I have an emergency?
A: Call our office as soon as possible. We will work you in during regular business hours. If you are an existing patient, after hours, on the weekend or holidays, call our office for the dentist on call emergency number.
